Why work with Chris, the Mindful Technologist?

Chris Mich (Mich rhymes with “wish”; he/him/his) is a Chicago native. Based in Andersonville for nearly 20 years, his business is a minority-owned, LGBTQ+-friendly, small business. Most of the time he bikes to clients, as it is the most efficient way to move about the city, but he also takes public transportation and has a car for special circumstances.

Chris believes we deserve better experiences with our technology, and that extends to support sessions. Unlike working with places like Abt, Best Buy’s Geek Squad, or Apple’s Genius Bar, working with Chris employs a personalized, cumulative and holistic approach to each project with each client. This unique and tailored approach considers the larger picture: the ways clients use all of their tech, in addition to the specific project need, which translates into a more empowering experience, and this approach cultivates an ongoing and continual improvement-type of relationship.

As he is not a fan of waste, Chris is always looking for innovation and efficiency opportunities. He specializes in finding shortcuts; quicker ways of doing the same task. Are you a keyboard person? He’ll tell you the shortcuts to speed up the task. More of a gesture or mouse person? There’s a hidden world of neat tricks we can do with our fingers and our tech. He does not confuse shortcuts with cutting corners. As there are many correct ways to do the same task using technology, Chris loves to explore workflow improvement for greater efficiency.

Further, you always get Chris when seeking a support session. You don’t have to worry about getting someone different and having to establish a new relationship each time, hoping they have your account notes handy; hoping they know what they’re doing.

Additionally, Chris extensively documents during our sessions, such that clients can always go back to brush up on our history of what’s been worked on. What’s more, Chris offers comprehensive, personalised step-by-step guides based on our actual session notes, and he provides digests of each session shortly after.

Chris offers excellent support flexibility through a multitude of channels including face-to-face on-site, house calls, at coffee shops and libraries, remotely (with screen sharing and video apps), via phone call, text message and email.

Lastly, all correspondence and documentation is kept indefinitely so we can always pick up right where we’ve left off, for any project, device, or agenda item.
